Connect Google Ads

Authorize Google so Clakta can sync your campaigns, ad groups and spend, and write the tracking key into your final URL suffix automatically.

Connecting Google Ads brings your campaign structure and daily spend into Clakta. Attribution still needs tagged ad URLs — which Clakta can apply for you once the account is connected.

Connect

  1. Go to Project settings → Ad accounts.
  2. Choose Google Ads, then Connect account.
  3. Click Connect with Google. A popup opens for Google's OAuth consent screen.
  4. Sign in with the Google account that has access to your Ads accounts and approve the requested scopes.

Every Google Ads customer account you can access is connected, and a toast confirms how many were added.

Connecting an account you do not own

Choose Share link in the connect dialog. Clakta generates a one-time link for whoever manages the Google Ads account. They open it, click Continue with Google Ads, authorize, and the accounts appear in your project without ever needing a Clakta login.

The link is valid for one hour and works once.

Manager (MCC) accounts

Authorizing with a manager account connects the client accounts it administers. Each one appears separately in the ad accounts list so you can enable only the ones this project should report on.

If an individual account fails while the others succeed, you will see a "Failed to connect account" message naming the id — usually a permissions issue on that specific account.

What gets synced

  • Campaigns, ad groups and ads
  • Daily spend, impressions and clicks
  • Platform-reported conversions and revenue
  • Account status — enabled, canceled, suspended, closed

Spend is converted into your project's currency using daily exchange rates.

After connecting

Run the UTM setup so clicks can be matched to sales:

  1. On the Ad accounts page, choose Set up UTMs for the account.
  2. Select the ad groups to configure and apply.

Clakta writes the tracking key into each ad group's final URL suffix. That is the field that accepts raw key=value parameters with ValueTrack macros — Clakta deliberately does not touch your tracking URL template, so any existing tracking setup stays intact.

The resolved parameter looks like:

clkt=google:{network}:{campaignid}:{adgroupid}:{creative}

Google has no ad set concept, so the ad group id fills that segment.
