Connect Pinterest Ads
Connect your Pinterest ad accounts so Clakta reads your campaigns and spend, and adds its tracking key to your ads for you.
Connecting Pinterest Ads brings your campaigns and daily spend into Clakta. To know which ad brought each sale, you also need to tag your ad URLs, which Clakta can do for you on Pinterest.
Connect
- Go to Project settings → Ad accounts.
- Choose Pinterest Ads, then Connect account.
- Click Connect with Pinterest. A Pinterest window opens.
- Sign in and allow access to your ad accounts.
A message tells you how many accounts were connected.
Pinterest opens in a pop-up window. If your browser blocks it, you will see "The popup was blocked". Allow pop-ups for Clakta and try again.
Pinterest may ask you to connect again from time to time. When that happens, Clakta shows a notice and you connect the profile again the same way.
Connect an account you don't have access to
In the connect window, choose Share link and send the link to whoever manages the Pinterest account. They open it, click Continue with Pinterest Ads and allow access, without a Clakta login. The link works for one hour and only once.
Next: tag your ads
So clicks can be linked to sales:
- On the Ad accounts page, choose Set up UTMs for the account.
- Select the ads and apply.
Clakta adds its tracking key to the end of each ad's link, and keeps everything already in the link as it is.
The automatic option only tags ads that already exist, and it can't tag ads whose link comes from a product feed. To cover everything, including campaigns you create later, set the key once in your Pinterest ad account settings. See the Pinterest steps in Tag your ad URLs.
