Connect TikTok Ads

Authorize TikTok so Clakta can sync campaigns, ad groups and spend — and tag your landing page URLs by hand, since TikTok has no automatic option.

Connecting TikTok Ads brings your campaign structure and daily spend into Clakta. Unlike Meta and Google, the tracking key has to be added to your ads manually — TikTok's API does not expose a writable URL-parameter field.

Connect

  1. Go to Project settings → Ad accounts.
  2. Choose TikTok Ads, then Connect account.
  3. Click Connect with TikTok. A popup opens for TikTok's authorization screen.
  4. Sign in and approve access to your advertiser accounts.

A toast confirms how many accounts were connected.

Connecting an account you do not own

Choose Share link in the connect dialog and send the generated link to whoever manages the TikTok Ads account. They open it, click Continue with TikTok Ads and authorize — no Clakta login required.

The link is valid for one hour and works once.

What gets synced

  • Campaigns, ad groups and ads
  • Daily spend, impressions and clicks
  • Platform-reported conversions and revenue
  • Account status — enabled, disabled, limited, pending review

Spend is converted into your project's currency using daily exchange rates.

Tagging TikTok ads

There is no automatic setup for TikTok. Open Set up UTMs on the account and use the Manual tab to copy your tracking key, then:

  1. In TikTok Ads Manager, open the ad you want to track and click Edit.
  2. Find the Destination page (landing page URL) field.
  3. Append the Clakta tracking key to the URL as a query parameter — after ?, or & if the URL already has parameters — and publish.

The template TikTok fills in on each click is:

clkt=tiktok:__PLACEMENT__:__CAMPAIGN_ID__:__AID__:__CID__

So a destination URL ends up looking like:

https://shop.example.com/product?clkt=tiktok:__PLACEMENT__:__CAMPAIGN_ID__:__AID__:__CID__

TikTok substitutes the real placement, campaign, ad group and ad ids when the ad is served.

Because this is manual, build the tagged URL once and keep it in your ad creation checklist. Every new ad needs it, and an untagged ad contributes spend with no attributable conversions.

Verifying

Click one of your live TikTok ads and check the landing page address bar. The clkt parameter should contain numeric ids, not the literal __CAMPAIGN_ID__ placeholders. If you still see the placeholders, the URL was pasted somewhere TikTok does not perform macro substitution.
